More Than You Want to Know About Me
I am a thirty-something person who recently moved back to my hometown of Asheville, NC, after 6+ years of living in the DC area. When I say recently, I mean I made the trek home over 1.5 years ago - in August of 2006.
Pretty much since then, I’ve worked in healthcare philanthropy and marketing. I left a great online marketing job to pursue what I thought was my dream of law school. While waiting to hear from schools and saving money, I landed a sweet job that helped me realize that I like what I already do.
My hobbies are new media, reading about ridiculous pop culture issues online, being outside, staying active, taking pictures, spending time with my animals, and puzzling. (But that list is always changing!)
I enjoy a nice crossword puzzle, a savory meal, a tasty glass of wine, a good laugh, great music, a good movie, an addicting book, a lot of sunshine, my animals Buddy and Max, medium-difficulty sudoku, odd observations of the world, my friends and my family.
I’m excessively shy and generally terrified of people, but I’ve been working on that for the past 30 years and I think I’ve finally developed some good people skills. Most folks say I’m not as socially-awkward as I think I am. Jury’s still out.
Anyway, this blog is my playground for personal expression, journaling, connecting with others, and occasionally making folks chortle. I certainly expose a lot of underbelly in my blog, which sets me up for criticism if you are a future or current employer reading this, or a stranger, a past friend, a future friend, etc. Some have asked if that makes me uncomfortable, and while it does feel vulnerable to “put it all out here” on my blog, I hope that everyone takes it with a grain of salt.
